We're ending our afternoon back at the Roman Forum, because now that we have a guide book, we can actually identify some of the ruins. Paul is off with his maps, wandering. I'm sitting on top of a ruined wall with a German family behind me, trying to sneak a peek at my painting. We have seen more cats today — there is a calendar for sale called "the cats of Rome" and they're not kidding.
Today's golden moment: we were taken for Italians
and asked for directions!
